Yesterday 5-10pm on-call was tiring.

123 prescriptions with 400++ items in 5 hours!
Not to say to entertain those after office hours ward indents and even, diluting methadone syrup for a patient!

Back home, bathed, late-dinnered and started on my ward check report BUT half-way, I couldn't stand the sleepiness and I simply off my laptop and light in a blurry state. Off to sleep!

This was the 4th time!!!

I went to watch S.H.E. concert. Again. It wasn't expensive ticket (as there were 5 of us going). If i bought expensive ones, the amount would give my dad a heart attack!!! =p

It wasn't easy either to watch this concert as I only managed to change my night shift (out of 31 days of March, my turn fell on the 6th!!! =.=) with a nice colleague few days earlier before the concert day. Thank you so muchie, LCY!!!

And... it rained heavily just when people were waiting in the queue to get into the stadium. By the time we got to our seats, we were in a mess! =.=''

That's why I prefer concerts or shows at Genting. No worries on the traffic, no worries on rainy weather and even cheapest tickets still can get good view.

However, it's worth all the waiting and mess, for...

I would say the show was better than the last one.

There were a few sections - pyjamas theme, KTV theme... I love the KTV theme section.... the MVs shown were so funny!!!

And almost all costumes were bling bling.. haha~

I went to the 1st one during my final year!

Crazy Chap Goh Mei weekend

I guessed I must have gone nuts!!!

I worked for night shift on 26th Feb night and off work on 27th Feb morning. Back home for a shower and a quick packing up, then I jumped on to my friend's (CY) car, picked up another friend (LP) and OFF we went for our little Chap Goh Mei weekend breakaway!

How I managed to stay awake for more than 24 hours??? I don't know, =p

Post-night shift priority, being a passenger at the back seat ^_^

First stop: Yong Peng ( to visit another friend, LY)

LY refused to join us to Singapore no matter how we persuaded her. Mind you, she has a heart made of steel! Wonder which guy out there can melt her steel heart one day... =p
(Eventually we found out that her reason of refusal was her passport has expired! =.='')

Spending half day in Yong Peng - eating Yong Peng's famous fish balls, girls' chat at LY's place, watching Taiwan shows (laughing our heads off and CY complained of stomach muscle pain later that night due to all the laughings!)

Continued our journey further to the south --> J.B.

Spending the night at LP's bro's place. Had a wonderful dinner at Masai! Then went for a round at Aeon Tebrau City.

Sentosa, we will be back again for your CASINO, UNIVERSAL STUDIO, LUGE ride, SONGS OF THE SEA... soon. Hihihi~

Before calling it the end of the trip, we went for dinner at LP's place upon invitation of her lovely mum!! Thanks auntie!!!

Before heading back to the hectic routine of Malacca working life, on the last day of my CNY holidays, I went to e-Curve with my sis n bro... the main purpose was to watch 72 tenants

and I watched it twice!
1 at KL, 1 at Malacca later on (the first movie I watched in Malacca after staying here for half a year!)

Yesterday I broke 20 ampoules without any problem, but today...

Just 2 ampoules and my thumb started to bleed. I didn't realized when the ampoule had injured me.

I blame myself for my poor ampoule breaking skill!

Next time I should wrap the breaking area with gauze first in order to have an extra layer of protection.

Fortunately it's not some used needle prick injury, if not...
incident report has to be done, blood test has to be done, bla bla bla...

I need more practices!!!

Today I have to tumpang my head of unit's desk to work on my chemotherapy calculations cuz the desk for CDR (Chemotherapy Drug Reconstitution) PRPs was affected by falling ceiling incident (MALANG 1)

According to my colleague who worked till 10pm yesterday, nothing has happened yet. So, the incident was believed to occur between 10pm until this morning 730am. LUCKILY IT DIDNT FALL WHEN I WAS SITTING THERE!!! (My working desk was there afterall.... pheW!!!)

(I believe the cause was some leaking pipe which then softened the ceiling and BOOM!)

Everyone had to jump over in order to get to the other side (including my big boss =p) before the mess was cleaned up.

Today CDR so good business! 25 cases in a day! (MALANG 2)
And I had to go in to assist in the chemo drug reconstitution which meant all the changing to personal protective equipment thingy (mask, gloves, special cover shoes, cap, gown)

25 cases, went into the chemo drug preparation room from 11am to 4pm!!! No lunch, no toilet no water to drink... nearly pengsan of dehydration and hypoglycemia @.@

and the most tiring part was...

There were lots of the infusion normal saline drip today which required less than 500ml.
Our readily available infusion drip bottle is 500ml each.

Those required included 7x200ml; 6x250ml; 4x100ml and 1x300ml

which means

I need to syringe out 7x 300ml; 6x250ml; 4x400ml and 1x200ml
( in order to get the required volume)

which further means

I need to syringe each time 50ml--> total = 108 times of 50ml!!!
(since the largest syringe is just 50ml)
(MALANG 3 YANG BESAR SEKALI)

And it was quite hard to syringe out due to the air pressure... my arms and fingers are aching now ( MALANG 4)

Today went to Ipoh with some hometown friends, with the intention to watch 2012 (I have compnanions! who are same outdated with me, hoho~). At the cinema there, it was like watching movie was free cuz almost all the movies we wanted to watch were sold out for almost shows for the day! In the end, we bought tickets to watch 'A Christmas Carol'.

Got seats at the last row. Excited cuz I havent hit the cinema for so long! HOWEVER... the screen that I watched for the whole movie show was like this.....

A frog and a snake

This is not a fairy tale story.

It's about what I saw in my house kitchen yesterday.

I was back at home ~8pm yesterday, went to bathroom to wash my legs, flicked on the light and I saw...

What I saw when the light was fully on gave me a full strength dose of adrenaline!!!

It was a baby snake and the frog was a normal size small frog.

Ending of the story???

The frog jumped out from the kitchen (through the gap at the bottom of the back door).

I stood guarding the snake while waiting for my housemate to back. In the end, the snake took the opportunity to glide out from the kitchen through the door gap also as my housemate was doubting to kill it or not.

Weekend breakaway

I managed to have a breakaway to KL last week!

Although the time was short, I met up with a lovely friend, had a sumptuous meal with my sis and satisfied my craving for one of my favourite hobbies! (The rest of the weekend I was occupied with preparing research proposal presentation slides... T.T)

She insisted to pay for our breakfast and gave me so many gifts plus take-away desserts before back! *paiseh... 'yao sik yao ling'... wahaha~*

At night, I followed my sis to her workplace (She needed to close the shop for her boss.) Till now, I still forget what's the name of the shop she works at, ahahaha~ but it's opposite Sushi ZanMai in One Utama. And there I waited from 7 something to 9 something! uh~~~~
Of course during the wait, I explored around the shop, looking at the crafts... then hehehe~ I asked my sis to take some cardboards back so I could make one myself without paying for it!

For your information, 1 hour craft session costs RM45!! Only rich people will bring their kids there!

After closing the shop, we had at our late dinner at Chili's (since it was just a few shops away =p). It was already 9 something (or 10) but there were still MANY PEOPLE in the waiting list!

Such a heavy late dinner we had! I bet the calories I gained have exceeded my next 2 weeks quota!

Train Track & Children (Analysis)

Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. To save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally.

But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place?

Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was.

This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority are, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority are.

The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.

To make the proper decision is not try to change the course of the train because the kids playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use, and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens.

If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track! Moreover, that track was not in use probably because it was not safe.

If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids.

While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.

Remember...

"What's right isn't always popular... and what's popular isn't always right."

Everybody makes mistakes; that's why they put erasers on pencils.

A story on Decision Making

Today my CPS (Clinical Pharmacokinetic Service) a.k.a TDM (Therapeutic Drug Monitoring) preceptor was checking her emails and then she shared a story with me. A nice one.

So, I thought of sharing it out too. *wink*

This story is about Decision Making - Train Track and Children (perhaps some of you have heard of it). It's inspiring and gives us an insight in decision making.

Here it goes.

I drew it via Paint =p

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track.

The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids.

However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?

Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make...

My little ASUS was sent for resuscitation last week and fortunately she was discharged with no major complications except for a bit of 'follow up' of side effects eradication. Now she can function almost normally ('almost' cuz she's still a bit slow due to her age =p).

One admission for resuscitation cost me..... T.T

Last day in Store Department

Yesterday I ended my attachment at second station--> Store.

Although lots of my colleague dislike the most to be attached at store (same with me up to a certain point =p), I still had a memorable time there.

First was the preparation for Jamuan Hari Raya where I got closer with some of the staffs especially Mr.Norashid (my kambing panggang sifu! ^_^)

Secondly, what I did during the store attachment was appreciated by one of my supervisor!!

It was 5.10p.m. and I still haven't finished my work assigned to me (cuz Friday's a short day and a few things had taken place earlier). So, no choice, I handed down the work to my colleague who was just posted to store (PAISEH!!). I was getting ready to go home when my supervisor called me, "Chong!"

SWEAT....

PALPITATION...

I thought I had done something wrong. "Oooohhh nooo, not on the last day, at this last minute! What did I do?"

Mana tau....

My supervisor took out some notepads, sticky pads and pens (all were gifts from pharmaceutical companies) and gave them to me.

"Chong, thanks for everything and sorry-lah if I bla bla bla... I nampak you're OK one. Sekali ajar dah tahu macam mana buat. Carolyn (the new colleague whom I handed down my work to her) pun sama..."

OMG!!! Was this a compliment?? Well, I took it as a compliment! HAHAHAHA! I was so happy that I kept on thanking her back!

One of the staff was mimicking the act of playing indian trumpet. That's why the snake reacted as snapped in the picture.

I'm not sure what happened to the little one in the end - being thrown away at some place far from hospital??? or being brought back and kept as a pet by one of the staff??? =p

I wonder when the mummy or family of the little cobra will 'visit' the store again, looking for their little one......

Post-A&E call syndrome

I did my first A&E call last night! (Hopefully I ran the TDM sample for digoxin correctly...). So, I got my auto-off for today. la~ la~ la~

First thing when back home of course was SLEEP!!! Went into coma from 8 to 11~ =p (Why just slept so little? Cuz my stomach woke me up! Hahaha~) After attending to my stomach's call, I took my VyVy for her first service. Walao~! The living cost of her's really no cheap thing! RM130++ flew just like that! Then I got my windscreen, rear screen and both back side windows sprayed with my car number. Another RM40 gone! Huhuhu~ I'm thinking to install an electronic plate security for my VyVy... But it costs 399!!!!!! I better put this aside first as I have a higher priority device in my WISH-TO-BUY list. =p

HTC Touch Diamond 2!

It complies with all the specifications that I want - wifi, GPS and can support well medical software. The price will definitely used up my saved up salary for the past 2 months. I need to think twice, thrice, ...... tenth and above TIMES!!!

Back home and got into coma AGAIN until 6 something cuz housemates asked for dinner (if not, I think would continue be pig until night or maybe tomorrow morning!! lols~) One night on-call had really deteriorated my conciousness! I LOCKED MY ROOM AND LEFT THE KEY INSIDE!!!!

Weekend off!

I drove to KL after work on last Friday, so glad that finally I could have my weekend away from GH Malacca! (I've been working EVERYDAY since 5th Oct for 23 consecutive days! -.-ll)

However, half the journey I heard something which was quite scary to me...

Klak... klak... Klak

The sound's getting louder~!!!

One month old new car's breaking down???!!!

Reducing my speed to 60km/hr, I had my car rolling to the nearest rest stop. What I saw was......

My car's four tyres were covered with a layer of TAR (with stones sticking on it!). The sound came from those stones... I was blank during that time. HOW WAS I GOING TO CLEAR THAT LAYER OF TAR?? In the end, I just picked out the stones as many as I could... then I didn't care ady la cuz the sky's getting darker. So, I continued my journey with just 60km/hr. When I found that the sound's lesser and softer, I accelerated to 90km/hr. And finally I reached my aunt's house at 8 something. The first I did upon reaching --> inspected the tyres le... PHEW! The layers had gone! Thanks to the rain, I guessed. (KL was raining that time).

Such a dramatic journey! I was so restless all the way. Huh~

Today which was supposed to be my 'auto-off' day post-OPD call on last Saturday and Sunday.

BUT...

In the end...

I ended up helping the Store Department staffs in the 'Hari Raya Feast' organized by the Pharmacy Department of Malacca Hospital.

I helped to:

1. Peel off the onion skins until tears also rolling down~

2. Cut watermelons into pieces. CHOP!! CHOP!! CHOP!!

This watermelon's 'layu' ady, so it's for illustration purpose. We didn't serve it out. =p

There are only 2 new PRPs (which are me and another colleague) who just joined into the Store Department AND our PRP room is just opposite yours!!!!!! Is it that difficult to remember 2 new faces? I tried to get to know everyone there, their faces and their names. I remember your name. I recognize your face!

Actually I do not care if you do not know who I am. It's just that when you threw out that question, your tone was RUDE!!! You sounded as I was an illegal intruder who wasn't supposed to be there.

Fully occupied Saturday

It's Saturday. Most people who's on 5-day working scheme were still snoring under their blankets WHILE I had to crawl out of bed at 7am!

WHY??

I have to work on-call this weekend. My first on-call since I entered Malacca Hospital. BUT it's NOT my turn initially. Someone 'superior' asked me to help someone to do it. Being a freshie at the hospital, sure didn't dare to say 'NO'. So, this weekend's gone, occupied by Methadone call. Prior doing this call, I purposely sacrificed a Saturday 2 weeks ago to learn about the work from a senior. The working time supposed to be from 10am-2pm but I went early to prepare all the things and started syringing out the methadone syrup....
syringe ~ syringe ~ dilute ~ dilute ~ syringe ~ syringe ~ dilute ~ dilute ...
I guessed I've syringed about over HUNDREDS bottles!!! -.-ll

After work, thought of going over to another station to learn about TDM (Therapeutic Drug Monitoring). It's essential to know how to do it during A&E call. But, by the time I was there, there was no more sample to run. T.T

Hopefully tomorrow got sample for me to learn after my methadone work.

3pm. Klu~ klu~ klu~

Stomach was crying! =p I din realize that I didn't have lunch! So, off I went to Tesco (the nearest and the only so-called shopping place that I know how to go, HAHA!). Lunch alone. Since already at Tesco, sure walked around mar... walked around then sure shopping mar.. hehehe~

My 'SOUVENIRS' were:

1. Folding storage box

To store my food supplies!

2. Storage shelf

When I put this in my trolley, an uncle approached me and say "Girl, this one not good! Carrexxxx got sell 3 compartments with just RM10!!" -.-ll Being a polite girl, I sure replied " Oh really? Thanks, uncle". (But I didn't put the shelf back to the displaying rack, haha~)

After assembling the storage box, table and shelf, I gave my VyVy a bath. Pitied her of being comot comot =p

My sis borrowed me these books when I was bored during my holidays and I couldn't hit a target book everytime I visited the bookstore.

I finished the first volume months ago but somehow the second volume I was stucked half book no matter how frequent I read it. It wasn't that the storyline was dull. Err... It's just... Err...

(The truth was everytime I took it out to read, I was so tired after working and would dozed off within 2 pages, haha~!)

I will try to finish it!!!

Satisfiying weekend

Although I just managed to spend one and a half day at Kampar, I was satisfied.

I did a lot of things in that 30 ++ hours -->

" Spent Mid Autumn Festival day with my lovely family and friends, sang K, tea session, tried my 'VyVy' out and planned a surprise mooncake delivery to a dear friend. Fortunately I managed to grab a few from my house fridge before they were all gulped down! I succeeded in throwing her a surprise delivery in person! (You looked cute in that Winnie the Pooh night dress ^_^ ) "

Back to Malacca on Sunday (I accomplished my first driving out of Perak all alone!). Another new month, another start for me. Cuz I moved to another room (same house), so there were a lot of cleaning, tidying, packing to do. By the time I finished, it's ady near to midnight! My energy level was reaching NIL after the driving and housechores.

... SNORE SNORE SNORE ...

The next day...

I MANAGED TO GET TO HOSPITAL WITHOUT GETTING LOST!!! HAHAHA!!

But my VyVy comot ady due to the rain. T.T

For the month of October, it will be a dull month for me as I'm stationed in a boring department. Today was the first day and all I did in the 8 working hours were merely faxing and following up 3 purchase orders! Numerous times, I nearly dozed off, sitting there doing nothing. =p

I guess for the rest of the month, I can spend my working time to study for my forensic exam ady. =)

She always offers me help, asking anything that I need, fetches me on and off work and settles my transport problem if she's not free to give me a ride. Without her, my start in Malacca sure would be so lost!

On this such special day, apart from our Malay friends who were enjoying Raya, our 'long-disappeared-from-hosting-gathering's HW has once again organized a BBQ, celebrating Raya + Mid Autumn Festival. =)

Water Crisis

My house's facing water crisis!!!

The crisis has come to the level that I can't even bathe at home as there's NO WATER coming out from the shower. The water tank has been drained up, now only can supply the toilets' basin...

*** Don't think I'm smelling bad now cuz I just had my bath next door! Hahaha~ The auntie next door was so kind that she borrowed her bathroom for us to bathe. ^_^ ***

The cause of the crisis is:

Due to some leakage somewhere, we had to closed the main pipe outside of the house (the water meter has been running at high speed for the past month!). During the period then, the water tank was being used while waiting for the pipe worker to come. Wait wait wait... still didn't come... However, yesterday right after my bath, the showers in my house 'stopped' flowing out water ady. NO MORE WATER IN THE WATER TANK!! huhu~

RED ALARM DECLARED!

Finally, yesterday night the pipe worker came to check the piping system in the house.

Really beh tahan to live without water!! Can't bathe at home, can't wash clothes at home. Luckily 2 more days, I'm going back Kampar ady.

The Mr.Pipe worker promised to fix and settle the piping system on FRIDAY!!! HOPEFULLY after raya holidays, the water crisis will be over.

BUT...

HOW TO GO THROUGH THESE 2 DAYS??!!

I'm at Malacca now... I got a place to stay... I got friends to fetch me to work and off work, ahahahah~ (A BIG THANKS TO MY NEWLY KNOWN HOUSEMATE and COLLEAGUE cum FRIEND!) Although not really settled down yet, I've started my work this week onwards... Lots to refresh back, lots to catch up, lots to learn, lots to cope up with... I hope I have enough determination and strength to deal with all the things coming...

Today was the first day that I started my job officially and I've been sent to attend the clinical meeting... pengsan-le... really blurred during whole meeting.. =p

One good news is:

I'M COMING HOME FOR 4 DAYS DURING RAYA HOLIDAYS!

Coconut Crystal Mooncake ^_^

Last few days, I came across one of mum's newly purchased recipe book - Fashionable Jelly Mooncakes! The mooncake illustrations shown inside really 'caught' my interest. Then I ran to my mum, begging her to buy the desired ingredients and make the mooncakes with me, haha~

After going through the whole recipe book, I picked out the flavour I like the most and added in some that I love, hihi~

And my decision was...

2 Surprise Visits

An uneventful day as today was spiced up by 2 visits from 2 gentlemen! They came with gifts in hands for me, hohoho~!

1. A pen from Rachel as my belated graduation gift.

Rachel, a junior I knew when I was the facilitator during her orientation in Perak Matriculation College, the intake after I graduated. Then, she was enrolled into UM too! And we managed to keep in touch all these years. Thank you for your gift ya!

Thanks to Seon~ who came delivering the gift from Rachel to me although something happened to your family. May God bless you and your family no matter where they are.

2. A Malacca map from Mr. Au.

He really bought me a map of Malacca (cuz he said he couldn't afford me a GPS, haha~) after I told him I got posted to Malacca! Thank you so much for this! It'll be really useful for me in the days ahead~

This morning KKM phone line was bombed by UM Pharmacy graduates! I tried calling berpuluh kali only could get through it~ -.-lll

I WAS POSTED TO MALACCA!!!

I'm the only one in my batch who's posted to Malacca. T.T
My hope to stay at Perak or Selangor or KL crashed into pieces... (Wondering if I appeal, will I be able to get back to Perak???)

Compared to most of my coursemates, I guess I'm lucky. Quite a number of them got SARAWAK & PAHANG!! The rest were scattered to every corner of Malaysia - Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, Sabah, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Terengganu is also in the list!! All EXCEPT PENANG!!!

WHY WHY WHY??!!!!

What had the UM Pharmacy graduates 2009 done to get this kind of fate??? Why can't we get what we wanted???

We were 'lelong' to the whole Malaysia...

Then came out a hypothesis that got someone complained KKM of their inefficiency to delay the posting and so on... So, KKM acted lor... Without waiting the seniors to come out from their PRP (Provisional Registered Pharmacist) places, KKM posted us to the readily available vacancies!! If this is true, HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN??!! We are willing to wait for our seniors to out first, KKM!!

Someone (I think is a fresh Pharmacy graduate) wrote to a particular newspaper saying:

Since now is the outbreak of H1N1 and hospitals are short of healthcare professionals, but the fresh graduates still cannot get their posting A.S.A.P. while they are ready & passionately to serve the public. She said the attitude of SPA (Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam) and KKM (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia) people to keep delaying the interview and posting is very inappropriate. Instead of increasing the manpower by posting soon, they even asked private hospital staffs to work as part time and OT to cope with the situation is very unwise and might be dangerous. She urge the related personnels to change their working attitude and efficiency.

Personally, i think this kind of complaint had annoyed the KKM people and they reacted to accelerate the posting process BUT.... WHY UM STUDENTS HAVE TO BE THE VICTIMS???

My batch has around 60 persons. From the results, LESS THAN 10% got what they applied!!!

That day beria-ria went to apply, thought could do some part-time before posting. Today the KTAR exam division staff called me to confirm, I have to 'paiseh-ly' turn her down. So SORRY!! As the latest news said that we need to report ourselves between 1st to 15th Sept. The exam attendant job is from 1st to 18th Sept!!! All because of KKM!!!

A bunch of 14 fresh graduates drove hundreds of kilometres, around 4 hours from KL to Taiping for a little break away, hehe~

Although there're not many attractions in Taiping, but anywhere's the same... the most important aspect is the companions you have. Agree?

At first this trip was supposed to be a family trip after my graduation. However, it ended up with just my sis, younger bro and me going. The reason was my dad didn't want to take leave off work for so many days (my sis only managed to book First World hotel room for Monday night). My dad has to take 3 days leave in order to go and my youngest bro need to skip 2 days classes and my cousin has to skip 2 days school... MAH FAN-nya! SOOOO, in the end, we tiga orang pergi lor...

3 PERSONS, 2 ROOMS!!! ^_^ oh-hohohoho~

Post-graduation (I) 之 Family Photo-shooting

The next day after my graduation, my whole family and my aunt & uncle plus 2 cousins went to the only photo studio found near my aunt's house at Bandar Sri Damansara, Protake Photo Studio, for our family photo-shooting.

Some of you might be wondering why my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins were together with my family for the photo-shooting.

Well, the story is like this...

This aunt and uncle are my sister and brother's godmum and goddad. Since they don't have their own children, they took my sister and brother as their god-children. One of the cousins (mentioned earlier) is my aunt and uncle's god-child too. So, in short, this aunt, uncle, my sister, brother and the cousin are ONE FAMILY also. Confused? Haha~

Then why got another cousin who appearred le? This one is being taken care by my mum since he was 2 years old (now he's 8 years old). So, bring him along for the shooting. Clear tak?? =p

This was the first time that my family went for a proper family photo-shooting at a studio although my sis and brother had graduated 2 years and a year ago separately. Both of them postponed it until my graduation.

So the session started.

I took solo-ly then with family then with my 3 siblings. Each pose got a few shots.

Having been attending friends', sister's and brother's convocation for so many times already, now FINALLY it's my own. Tomorrow is my graduation day!

Well, I'm not really excited about it but more looking forward to meeting up with my coursemates and friends (and perhaps those long-lost-in-contact friends who might pop up at my convocation?) ;p

The journey to this day was not an easy one.

Those hardwork, those tears, those pains... T.T

Those dark times during that particular year... :'(

Not forgetting those encouragement, those supports, those loves... ^_^

I finally did it!!

Although it took longer that it's supposed to be, I'm glad and relieved that I managed to live up my parents' expectation and hope...

I'll be off to KL tonight and will be back at Kampar most probably by next weekend (due to the post-convocation plans for the whole next week!) Hehe~

That day when I was at my friend's place, he showed me his newest member of his collection. The 1971 Tunku Abdul Rahman Commemorative Proof Coin. It was his most valuable treasure so far. According to the market price, it costs RM1800!!! But this friend of mine got an offer cheaper than that! (But still, to me, RM1K ++ for a RM5 silver coin...)

My friend then told me that my coin's worth RM15-RM20. The value of the coin was RM5 itself.

My day started off gloomily, with no breakfast and WORST of all, my house washing machine chose to broke down on this day out of all days and times!!!

Leaving me with no choice, I had to take out the half-washed clothes and continued washing them MANUALLY!!!

Deep down in heart, cursing non-stop the stupid washing machine, thinking of what a moody morning I had.

But then, when I was checking some friends' blogs, I just couldn't help smiling when I came across hers.

(She managed to post it after 12am although she had a tiring Tuesday after her yoga class!)

A hot day in Cyberjaya, crowds were everywhere, packed like a tin of sardine, cameras flashing in all directions, perspiration dripping -.-ll --> there we were, attending our dear Chindian's convocation at MMU.

This happened when you got bored of the waiting

This' how you'd look like when you stood in the crowd, under the blazing sun, strained your neck to search for your target but couldn't spot him/her anywhere

This' what you'd do when the celebrated one's busy entertaining other people

After taking turns to snap a few photos with the celebrated girl, we transformed into her personal maids - following her around, carrying her bouquets and gifts, helping her to wipe sweat, as well as becoming her cameraman! No choice lor, people convo mar, her big day, so gave her face lor, hahaha~

Chilling out in sunny days

Since May, people around me, people I know had been flying to Bali for vacation. And thanks so much to Mr.Chew that I had the opportunity to chill out at this famous spot of vacation last month. It was a short but wonderful one.

Where I went / What I did:

Day 1

Kuta/ Legian street - There are lots of stuffs up for grab from crafts to clothes to sandals to surfing's accessories. Not to forget a whole variety of restaurants and bars, serving western food, chinese food, japanese food and of course balinese food to choose when your stomach cries for hunger. Exploration began after a short rest upon checking into out hotel, Vilarisi Hotel.

We had our first dinner at a restaurant named 'B couple Bar & Grill'. The food was nice but the portion was so big than we couldn't finish up our food. Sorry for wasting (guilty).

Day 2 (arranged by 1-day tour guide)

~ Barong & Kris Dance (the dance's choreographed based on a story)

~ Nusa Dua beach, famous spot for water sport activities such as diving, parasailing, flying fish, jet ski, banana boat etc. We went for glass bottom boat ride, turtle island and flying fish.

~ Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

~ Uluwatu Temple (built hundreds of metres above the cliff). Beware of monkeys loitering around, eyeing on the tourists' food, glasses and hats!

~ Jimbaran beach for sunset view and romantic dinner

Day 3

Joined Happy Bike Cycling Tour for a ~2.5hours cyling expedition around Ubud. Along the way, we stopped to visit:

~ Breakfast at a restaurant overlooking the active volcano, Mount Batur (It was such a breathtaking view!)

~ Coffee plantation (Specialty: Luwak coffee which costs Ru600k for 100g coffee beans!)

~ Short walk at paddy field

~ Balinese village temple

~ Traditional Balinese home (where we had a Balinese lunch)

Along the cycling, children came running out to say 'Hello' or stretching out their hands- 'Give me 5!' They were so lovely and friendly.

At night, continued walking and shopping around Kuta/ Legian street. We got to visit the Bomb Memorial of 2002 bombing incident.

Day 4

An extremely early morning stroll at Kuta beach, enjoying the ocean view, waves splashing onto the shore, watching people jogging and surfing.

Back to hotel and packed up.

Bye-bye Bali!

There are still alot of places I didn't managed to visit. I will be back! ^_^

When SPA letter comes...

Finally after lazing for about 2 months, the SPA letter came.

"Tahniah. Anda telah dilantik sebagai Pegawai Farmasi Gred U41. Bla bla bla...."

After going through the whole letter together with its attachments, I realized that I had 3 things in hand to settle.

1. Sign the Surat Terima and send back to SPA in Putrajaya. (settled)
2. Get the Surat Sumpah signed and chopped by a Pesuruhjayasumpah. (settled)
3. Do medical check up. (half settled)

For sure, if you pay for something, you will get it in a short time. I remember before entering university, we were required to do a medical check up also, and I did it at a private centre (of course I paid for it). The report, the x-ray and my form were settled in just one morning.

This time, the same kind of medical check up, I chose to do it at a government clinic. (It's FOC)

Last week Friday, 8am

Me: Hello, saya nak buat medical check up untuk masuk kerja kerajaan.
Staff: Surat tawaran?
Me: Ini dia.
Staff: (Scanning through my letter) Ok, check up hanya ada pada hari Isnin dan Rabu, pukul 2 petang.
Me: Oh, ok. Nanti saya datang lagi minggu depan lah. Thank you.
Staff: Ok.

This week Monday, 1.45pm
The clinic was closed for lunch-time. Waited outside until 2pm, door opened.

Me: Hello, saya nak buat medical check up.
Staff 1: Duduk sebelah dulu. Tunggu clerk datang nanti.

Waited for another 10 minutes...

Me: Kak, nak buat medical check up.
Clerk: Ok, pergi bilik No.1.
Me: Pergi saja ke bilik No.1? Sudah ada orang kat situ?
Clerk: Yaya.
Me: Thank you.

Found room No.1, knocked at the door - no response. The clerk just now told me already had staff here in the room one wor. Knocked again - no response. So, waited outside.
2.10pm... (tick tick tick) 2.20pm... (tick tick tick) 2.30pm..
Finally a nurse opened the room No.1 door from inside. (Apa ni, lunch until 2.30?? The notice pasted at the door clearly written 'Medical check up Isnin & Rabu 2-4pm')

Me: Kak, nak buat medical check up.
Nurse: Baru nak buat sekarang atau datang ambil report?
Me: Ya, nak buat sekarang.

Then she started filling up forms - urine test form, x-ray form, log book and the health form that I brought along. For my health form, she just started ticking away the boxes in my form, pausing at a few aspects to ask me.

Nurse: Timbang berat tengok.
Nurse: Tinggi? Tak ingat? Ok, mari. (Then she checked my height)
Nurse: Pakai cermin mata kan? (I nodded. She didn't check my eyesight, and just filled in the box at the column 'penglihatan dengan cermin mata')
Nurse: Gigi ada rosak? (Takde)
Nurse: Hari ini x-ray tak ada. You boleh datang esok untuk buat x-ray? (Boleh)
Nurse: So sekarang you pergi kencing untuk urine test, lepas tu boleh balik dah. Esok pagi datang buat x-ray. Form ini you ambil balik rumah dulu. (Then she checked the calendar and wrote 3/8/2009 at certain column. I saw the column was 'Datang balik pada...' What?! 2 weeks later??? -.-'')

SHE DIDN'T EVEN TOLD ME TO COME BACK ON 3/8/2009! sweat-nya...

Yesterday, Tuesday, 8.15am

After asking the reception, I was directed to the x-ray unit. Finally I managed to get my chest x-ray done in less than an hour. PHEW!

Now I have to wait for 2 weeks to see the doctor, get my lab test report, x-ray AND get my health form filled and signed (MOST IMPORTANT ONE).

The last night after all the Shih Lin Night Market food, of course it was the chance to SHOP! We spent our money to the last dollar in Xi Men Ding and Wu Fen Pu, hehe~

Day 7

We woke up at 4 something as our flight back to KL was scheduled in early morning. We had our breakfast in the bus on the way to airport, listened to the final words from our Taiwan guide, Judy. She's such a great tour guide!

After all the checking-in procedures, a brief farewell to Judy, off we went to check-in, waiting for our flight to take off. Bye-bye Taiwan!

Vacation at Taiwan (Day 5)

Day 5

Day 5 was mostly spent at Alisan Forest Park. The journey was tiring, it took about 2 hours to reach up there. But it was worth, the air was cool, trees, flowers, beautiful nature~

Our dinner for the day was very special. The restaurant was named 'Five-dime' (Wu Jiao Chuan Ban). Anyone visiting Taiwan, have to dine at this restaurant if possible. There are a couple of branches around Taiwan. The one we went to was located at Taichung. Have a look at this restaurant, how unique it is.

It was named after the owner found a 'wu jiao' on a wood plank

After the nice dinner, off we went to Fong Jia Night Market (located next to University Fong Jia). This night market was more towards fashion clothes, bags, accessories etc.. but still we tried on some food which was famous. All the gals back to hotel with 'hasil'. Hehehe~
